Endodontic Services in Brighton MA

Here are some of the services we can offer to patients suffering from pulp damage.

Root Canal Surgery. If you’re experiencing severe tooth pain, it could be caused by dental nerve damage or infection. Mayani Dental Group can stop the pain and prevent the infection from spreading by performing a root canal procedure. Doing so involves removing the infected pulp at the root of your tooth and using dental filling to seal the canal.

Endodontic Therapy. There are several nerve endings at the root of your tooth. Unfortunately, it’s fairly easy for one or all of them to become infected. And although rare, it’s possible that a root canal leaves some of the damaged nerves in your teeth. In the unlikely event, this occurs, there’s a high risk that the infection returns. Endodontic surgery is a treatment option we offer to remove the infection. It involves removing the tip of the root of the infected tooth and then replacing it to prevent further infection.

Endodontic Retreatment. Ideally, successful root canal treatment should maintain your teeth for a lifetime. However, this isn’t always the case. For example, if a tooth that has undergone root canal fails to heal completely, the pain could flare up again within months of the initial surgery. When this happens, we perform endodontic retreatment by removing the restorative materials used during the first root canal and clean of the canals before resealing them with new restorative materials.

What Your Dental Team Is Doing to Keep You Healthy

Dear Mayani Dental family:

The health and well-being of our patients is our top priority, now and always. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, we are closely following and adhering to precautions advised by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

We want to assure you that we are taking continuous steps to ensure that our office remains a safe place for every patient. It’s important for you to know that dentists are experts in infection control. For instance, we have been trained to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as flu, HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis and all viral diseases. The precautions we take every day will also help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

We follow precautions developed by the CDC to protect both health care personnel and patients. We sterilize all instruments at 375°F after each use and clean each dental operatory after each patient visit, using surface disinfectants that kill all known infectious diseases, including coronavirus. We utilize dedicated hand wash and one-time use disposable materials which help maintain a safe environment for our patients. Our staff is regularly trained in these procedures.

Working with our facility managers, we’ve ensured that our cleaning team has a sufficient stock of supplies. We have asked them to apply additional focus and time on cleaning door handles, faucets, and other items with high-traffic hand touches. Magazines in our waiting areas are also a risk from frequent contact, so they have been removed.

Seeing your dentist is a vital investment for your general health. Our office remains open to care for our patients following the above guidelines. If you have a fever, are exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness, or have had recent contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you may be a risk to other patients or staff members. If you are experiencing fever (greater than 100.4), cough, or shortness of breath, please remain at home and contact your primary care physician immediately.

Remember, the best way to protect yourself and your community is with everyday preventative actions, like washing hands often and disinfecting surfaces regularly. These actions will help minimize and slow the spread of the coronavirus.
